Pop and pour. Year-in and year-out these Croix 1er wines are stunning. Ths btl is no exception. On the nose: soft funky earth, wild strawberry, spice, pomegranate. On the palate: fantastic acidity, lovely density, strawberry, pomegranate, soft herbs, very soft tannin on the close.

Matter of Taste Zurich Burgundy’s Viticultural Revolution Masterclass: Tasted at the Matter of Taste Zurich Burgundy’s Viticultural Revolution Masterclass. Hot and steep hillside vineyard with stony soils. Sour cherry, and ripe raspberry and nice perfume. Slightly reductive. Palate is balanced, but offers few highlights.

This is a pleasant wine without fault. Well made but without the stuffing to truly excite. 90 pts
TN: Very light, very fine, transparent, slightly floral and red fruit. Nothing spectacular but very well strucutred, nice creaminess, high, round acidity.
Decanting: This was sitting in the glass for at least 30 minutes. Didn‘t need much more air.

Very balanced and sensual, fruit forward and vanilla notes belie this wine’s age. But such good balance and texture! Need to seek out more from this domaine, and now I understand what the fuss is all about
