Started out balanced, but after the bottle was open ~30 minutes, fruit subsided and it became quite austere. Olive and green vegetal notes on the nose, along with barrel char. On the palate, charred meat, olive, green pepper, and black pepper.

Great garnet limpid colour. Nose of blood, meat and the blackest of fruit. Palate is clean, dark fruit and mineral aspect. Really nice wine - not overly complex - but a very typical and correct expression of Syrah. Recommended.

Immensely drinkable, spice and pepper, restrained yet firm structure. Black fruit, vanilla and medium tannins.

I am an enthusiast of the Reyneke Syrahs and after a couple of bottles, believe this is a fine example with ripe, spicy, peppery, dark fruit with good energy that really opened up and is only going to improve.
