Pale ruby Medium plus nose. Garrigue, scorched earth, strawberries, raspberries, funk, hay, smoke, wet rock,campari/amaro. Medium acid, medium tannins, really super dry palate, some bitterness. Alcohol definitely adds some intense heat here. But the main thing here is texture. Like a lot of high elevation quality Garnachas, this wine nails that saline solution mouthfeel. Not salty, but the weightiness and graininess possibly broght on by the fine tannins.

Light and transparent red color. Sweet, but clean aromas of raspberries and strawberries and some spices. Light and airy with sweet fruit on the palate. Delicate and seductive. Pure hedonism!

Mainly Bordeaux at SSG: This was actually slightly better on opening with more structure with less sickly sweet red fruit. Very distracting cough syrup note without much elegance, and seemed to lose its structure with air. Reminded me of a not very serious Bojo. Off-bottle or am I a luddite who doesn't understand these new-school producers (which includes some Burgundy makers)?

Had a glass of this after a beautiful pinot flight with a friend who was interested in some Spanish wines and I thought it would be an elegant choice in that context. It was, but this wine really needs air to flesh out. It starts pretty rustic, with some almost gamay like notes, with firm acidity and silky structure, but with air, the flavor profile can fan out into something pretty special. Worth a look for this style of grenache.

Tasting: Tasted like a german bourgogne-copy. Easy to like, maybe lacking complexity.
