Nose of honeysuckle and jasmine. Good acidity with pleasing roundness. Good minerality. Not quite the fullness of a Ferren, but not nearly the price either.

As someone who drinks a lot of (lower classifications of) white Burgundy, I don't get the allure of even higher end American chardonnay that I've had. This doesn't quote have the Neursault richness but simultaneously feels a bit heavy handed with its oak influence somehow. While easy enough to enjoy, it begins to fatigue the palate with its weight and intensity after a while. Did go well with a rich and nice chicken pot pie and pretty enjoyable but not worth the money to me.
I had half of the bottle; drank over 1 night.

Cienega Valley, California Chardonnay 2017 Eden Rift ($42 winery sample). Sharp mid 24K gold; light oak, stone fruit, rose petal nose; mid-body; round, ripe; good acids; long, crisp semi-lush finish. w/clams. 16.5 UC Davis scale; 91 other scales.

Medium weight, unctuous, great balance of white peach fruit and freshness. Strong salinity. Skins on the finish. Long, straightforward. Drink now.

Bright pear/apple/lemon flavors, nice minerality, and zingy acidity. Consistent quality from this producer.
