Excellent from the first sip. - dark cherry color, little bit of alcohol on nose, light barnyard old French wine. Lovely smooth dry light sour berry taste. Hit with the table. In a great place right now drink up?

Nose: deep and rich, with cherry flambé, plum, rhubarb pie, very hedonistic.
Wines like this from the southern part of Burgundy could be total gateway drugs for Central Coast Pinot Noir drinkers to transition into the old world. It starts off primary and grapey but goes quickly into nuances of plum, forest floor, earth, then juicy and rich ripe red fruit, earth and minerals. Genuinely long and complex echoing some subtle dark fruit along with herbs. I highly doubt it tastes like this every year, this must’ve been a super vintage for Faiveley in this appelation. Great stuff.

Darker than I'd expected and with notes of black raspberry, black cherry, leather, and barnyard leading the way. Medium acidity keeps it feeling fresh, and light tannins linger on the medium finish.

Perhaps about a year too young. Certainly varietally correct, dark fruit. Let it breathe all afternoon. A bit more sour, acidic and austere than we care for and that made it less than an excellent wine, though it was good and a good food match. Can get equal or slightly better Pinot from Cali Central Coast, Monterey, and Russian River Valley for offerings in the $20 or about range, $10 cheaper than this. (Hahn SLH, Rodney Strong RRValley).
