Our last bottle of this one. Nicely maturing Grenache dominant blend. Sweet red fruits, spice, tobacco and herbs. Delicious drinking, went really well with chicken casserole.

Delicious Grenache dominant blend, much like a good CNDP. Sweet fruits, spice and Garrigue. In a really great place for moreish easy drinking. Great balance, medium length finish.

This bottle was consistent with the one we had a few weeks ago and continues to be an enjoyable wine. Pale in appearance, this showed red fruits, cedar, spice and a touch of earth on the nose. On the palate, this again reminded me of a maturing grenache-dominant CNDP with red fruits and spice to the fore. The wine is light-medium bodied with medium acidity and has a short-medium finish. Drunk by itself on this occassion.

This bottle was somewhat thinner and more austere than the last bottle I had 3-4 months ago which I would put down to bottle variation rather than a fault. Pale in appearance, this really reminds me of a maturing CNDP with fruits, cedar and spice on the palate. I would expect some further secondary and tertiary over the next 3-5 years so worth hanging onto for a little while longer. Was great both with food and by itself.

We drank this with roast chicken dinner with no decant ahead of time. As others have noted, this is lighter in colour than other Barossa Valley wines, but with nearly 50% Grenache in the blend that is what I would expect, more akin to a CNDP. What struck me with this wine is the more prominent acidity that grabs your attention on the palate, but the sweet fruits and spice are still there too. This was delicious, went really well with the meal and I would expect it to drink well for another five years.
