From magnum, this is in its early drinking window with superb balance and a developing complexity. Much more Old World than New World to my taste. Superb.

Decanted two hours before lunch and paired with roast lamb. Poured a small glass on opening which showed a hint of age in appearance and had a whiff of brett that blew off quickly. Incredible concentration on the palate with more secondary than primary flavours and a very long finish.
At lunch this was really singing, with a great range of aromas and flavours and a beautiful smoothness on the palate. A very good bottle of a very good wine.

This was our one and only bottle of this wine bought a couple of years ago from a private cellar which of course is not without risk. I have no point of comparison and have never had a champagne this old but we loved it. The cork came out in one with a slight ‘phst’, the wine had a nice golden colour and a fine mousse with lovely cooked apple and secondary flavours and the finish was very long.
