Disgorged 9/2019 with roughly 5 g/l dosage. BdB composed of four single vineyards in Le Mesnil, Avize, Cramant & Oger. Only produced in the best vintage years. On pop and pour the wines richness pushed through early with the expected lemon curd and other acid notes following. After warming and breathing, there’s notes of green apple and a little caramel on the roof of the mouth with the same acidic finish. Definitely shows the Peters signature BdB characteristics. Really lovely champagne.

(Disgorged in January 2019, 100% Chardonnay from Le Mesnil, Avize, Cramant and Oger, dosage 5 gr/l) Light yellow almost greenish colour with and endless stream of very fine bubbles in the glass. At first very youthful on the nose showing baked bread and lime citrus notes and opens up with some tropical touch of pineapple and then some hazelnuts and cream as well. Citrus driven palate with lots of acidity and with a chalky and creamy mid showing some butter pear and hazelnuts in a pleasant way. On the lengthy finish the lime citrus acidity takes over again adding some zesty bitterness notes as well. This is a very well made L’Esprit from Pierre Peters that is very pleasant already, but that should reward many years of cellaring as well! (Probably best around 2024-2039)

Nose: The nose is pristine and balanced with red apples, pears, mineral tones, toast, meyer lemons, saline, white fruits, biscuits, and brioche tones. There is very good depth at this nascent stage with the nose being extremely inviting.
Taste: The feel is medium bodied with tart, high acidity. The feel is light on its feet, but with good depth and poise as well as red apples, pears, mineral tones, meyer lemons, saline, toast, and some biscuit notes.
Overall: This is still very young and could certainly benefit from another couple of years of aging. This felt like it was holding back just a bit, but there is a lot to like here already.

Dry , chalky, good depth but too young. Much prefer the Reserve Oubluee which is way better
