Dark plums and cassis on the nose. Gentle heft on the palate with blackberry licorice. Leather, tire rubber, and spice on a lingering finish. Good, but I was hoping for a bit more.

Quite good for a daily wine. This is the lowest level wine from a Domaine making red and white Chat de Pap. Not sure about QPR as a gift. First open nose is farmhouse, black pepper and black summer fruit,. Similar on the palate with a surprisingly light body and some alcohol on the gullet.. Decanted for an hour, much smoother and rounder, fine tannins. Grass, blackcurrant leading to bitter cherry, a little raisin, nut and leather. Some black pepper but varying with food - ragu pasta, pate. After 2 hours, quite savoury with satisfying acid balance. But shortish finish and not much complexity/finesse. Does make me want to try Pegau's other offerings.

dark ruby hue. Bright berry bouquet initially. This is an interesting and somewhat complex wine. Strongly extracted (suits my taste), almost prune dominant in the fruit, but quite astringent in back palate, tannic finish. A little acid burn as well. full bodied. Nice meaty Rhone.

Tannic and earthy. Undercurrents of ripeness. Needs food. Good for a weeknight meal.

Minimal vanilla nose. Jammy and a bit chalky, maybe a bit acidic and sweet but enjoyable.
