  • Three hour decant. Bright, yet very very deep magenta color. Boysenberry syrup on buttered pancakes, blackberry, lilac, and subtle butterscotch on the nose. Smooth, dry, full bodied palate, with fine acidity. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.

This guy is hitting on all cylinders at the moment. Rich and decadent, but not at all extracted. Wish I had more…

  • Four hour decant. Bright, but very very deep magenta color. Black cherry, sugar plum, watermelon Jolly Rancher, dark chocolate shavings, caramel, and subtle gardenia on the beautiful, decadent nose. Smooth, dry, plush palate, with great acidity. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish. This continues to improve each time I drink it.

  • Seven hour decant. Deep dark magenta color. Freesia, blueberry pie, almond extract, cocoa, and cola on the lush, fruit forward nose. Super smooth, full bodied palate, with nice cocoa and cola carrying through. Full throated tannins on the longish finish.

This will only continue to improve and it’s already great with a healthy decant.

  • Thanks to AGelvis for this solid recommendation. I have had a couple of bottles of the 2015 which were very good but the 2016 has either upped its game, or, is just drinking a little better at this time.

Purple, red and black coloring and matching fruit, nice and smooth; a little creamy with up front vinalla overtones with chocolate and mineral notes on the finish. Primarily fruits of blueberry and black raspberry.

It’s the flagship of their 3 wines and so far, it’s my consistent favorite. It's a weird flagship because it is slightly cheaper.

  • Old Timers Lunch at Alexander Valley Vineyards (Alexander Valley Vineyards): Ripe full Cabernet done in a classic Napa Valley style this is a very nice but overpriced wine. All sex appeal and not as much personality because of the ripeness and barrel, it joins a voiceless Vegas chorus line of similar Napa Cabernets all lovely, all alike, viewed from a far. 2019 may finally be the vintage Napa Cabernet pricing adjusts and maybe we will see some risk taking in winemaking to get more expression of place. FYI I would not age this more than a few years.
