  très beau vin, malgré son alcool le nez est particulièrement frais et complexe, fraise, menthe, eau de vie de framboises, thym frais, cerise, bouche avec des tanins cependants un peu secs, peut être nécessitant un peu de vieillissement mais je n'ai aucune experience de vieillissement sur des nerello mascelese/capuccio

  Ruby red, medium depth of colour. Elegant nose - perfumed violets, red fruits, but with a volcanic earthy savoury character reflecting its origin. Medium bodied, good acidity, the tannins became quite grippy but not overpowering. Decent finish. A nice, different style of wine. If tasted blind I would have guessed it was a Barbaresco. Very good.

  Oenocosmos Wine Fair (Intercontinental Hotel): This is a pure Nerello Mascalese from 110yo vines, sourced from the Rampante contrada the soil is volcanic ash, the altitude is 1000-1100m, 1.4ha, the density is 8000 plants/ha, 15 days maceration in steel tanks, 18 months in 25hl oak, 5-6 months in cement, the wine undergoes malolaction, bottled without filtration, total production 2000 bottles.
  The wine has a pale red colour but a bit more concentrated than the others.
  Very concentrated in the nose, shows high intensity of ripe red cherries and currants, violet floral notes, mineral notes again with cinnamon candy spice notes.
  In the palate, the wine shows mineral profile again, ripe currants, powerful tannins, spices, aggressive steely tannins, very dry, impossible to drink now, needs years to open. It is of outstanding quality though and wine of the tasting for me.
