Community Tasting Notes (2)

  • Medium yellow. Heady, exotic nose. Full with alcoholic heat showing at room temperature. Creamy pineapple and some residual sugar. No shy, demure wine this. A sledge hammer that is certainly not to everyone's taste. It reminded me of drinking decadent Zind-Humbrecht wines back in the day.

  • Opened this one blind and accidentially, searched for a good+ Riesling in my cellar, but grabbed this bottle, pnp, wait? this is not Riesling, the nose...., maybe, tropical fruit, tight, juicy, on the palate, wow, tight again, extremely fullbodied, mango, pineapple, and after some sips feeling astounded, not that sharp acid, and then......, the label: 15,5% alcohol, unbelievable for an european white, but I have to admit, clearly fullbodied, but on the palate there is freshness above all , nothing else, after some sips I can feel the alcohol, but again: palate is clean and fresh, fruit driven, quite harmonic that young, some slightly bitterness, this bottle is a great wine for the future, but not really for me, lacking the razor blade sharp minerality and lightness of the very best Rieslings, if you like this style, I would recommend to wait at least a decade! *(**-****?)
