Maturing Aglianicos Blindtasted (Rich and Peggy's Home in Los Altos, CA): Group's #7 (my #7) – 89 pts; 0, 0, 1, 4 – dark red violet color; off-putting reduction nose to start with, opens to green peppercorn, herbal, graphite and plum nose; minerally, tart black fruit, roasted meat, graphite and smoke palate, a little thin-bodied though; medium finish

Nice color-deep red. Subdued nose of black currant and charcoal. Lacking fruit on the palate. Smooth, no flaws, but no intensity either. Mostly minerals. Not my favorite aglianico by far. Just ok.
