  • Cherry, candied cranberry, violets, spices; smooth, silky, subtle, extended, mild but very good

  • Opened up over a couple hours. Nice color, floral nose with a hint of earth. On the palate, it's medium weight with well-balanced flavors of sour cherry, cranberry, and some earthy complexity. Great mid-palate and decent acidity but the finish is just a hair too tart. Look forward to seeing how this has developed on day 2.

  • Medium / light cherry, ruby. Fairly austere pinot aromas that gives hints to being picked early. Tart cherry, chive and iron. It begins to round out after being opened for 6 hours, but this is lean wine by nature. Light, sweet / tart drama on the palate. Somewhat refreshing and not entirely unpleasant - this is a wine that demands food. For the close out price of $11, I don’t mind this at all – in fact I prefer it to a number of Bourgogne’s I have sampled recently. That said, if I paid $50 for it, I would be very disappointed. Too bad the grower didn't let this hang on the vine for a few more days..... I will go buy some more just to see how it evolves as you can't beat the price. (12+?)
