17th Annual Lyon 10 Year Retrospective (The Lyon's Tree House): Tasted blind I said, "this is Cab made by a Zin guy". Christian had a look in his eye too. Glycerin laden black fruit, black and red licorice, yummy plummy, and leather. 15% etoh, it has time but why drink your Zins, I mean Cabs, that old? 90 on day 2

Decanted about an hour. A medium to dark ruby color, almost purple. Cassis, spice box, licorice, tobacco, dried herbs and just a hint of vanilla on the nose. Medium body with solid, ripe tannins and very good acidity. Spicy fruit with some dried herbs on the palate with just a touch of oak. Fairly long finish. Still shows a lot of tannins and shows a touch of oak. Tastes young and a couple more years in the cellar will be rewarded. Very nice!

Decanted about an hour. Nice garnet red color. Cassis, blueberries, dried herbs, licorice, and a bit of vanilla on the nose. Medium to full body with solid, ripe tannins and very good acidity. Loads of spicy berries on the palate with some nice minerality and a bit of earthiness. Very nice length on the finish with the still youthful tannins giving nice grip. This still tastes young. I'll save my remaining bottles for at least another year. I'm sure this will improve through out the night, making my evening even more enjoyable.

Bold cab with a long finish. Splendidly smooth with rich black/blue berry overtones. Love this wine. It held up well to 13 years of aging.

Exactly like my bottle in September even though this bottle was decanted for 3 hours. In a word, fantastic.
