Popped and poured, sipped over about 2 hours. Initially the nose and palate were all deep dark berries, medium to full bodied, fairly concentrated with nice acidity. After some air time the oak and tannins started asserting themselves. Once the oak faded a bit, some earthy and savory notes started dominating as the fruit faded a bit - forest floor, black licorice, and finally a savory tomato note. That tomato note became overbearing by the time we finished, hence the lower score.

Deep purple, opaque inky core. Med+/pronounced intensity, black currant, black plums, cassis, licorice, thyme/lavender, cedar, earthy notes, wet slate. High acid, med+ body, high alcohol, dry, med/med+ tannin, long finish.
First hour of PnP showed high intensity ripe plump dark fruits with a lot of spice and stuffing underneath all the primary fruit, silky luscious mouthfeel with sweet tannins - very enjoyable. The 2nd hour got a little rough, spices from oak came out bluntly and wine started to close off. By the 3rd hour it started mellowing out again, but never returning to its initial intensity and just kind of becoming slightly lifeless and one note. If drinking this now, I would savor the youthfulness and drink it without much of decant, otherwise I'm sure this will mellow out and balance with some time.

ItalyvsFrance Merlot blends Zoom tasting. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purplish ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, mediumintensity, with aromas of purple plums, blackberry, blackcurrant, lavendar. Developing. On the pakate, dry, rounded high acidity, medium alcohol, plush medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of fresh blackberries, purple plums, blackcurrant, black cherries, fresh sweet spice. Juicy medium+ finish. Good quality. Solid 90 kind of wine. Quite ready, and can also develop some.

Pretty flat, not much going go, maybe a few years in cellar will improve. Will see.
