  • Nose of smoky oak, Blackberry, oiled leather and menthold for a sumptuous nose.

Palate of Blackberry, Tart Strawberry. Grippy tannins and more blackberry is joined by coca on the finish. Round a full acidity with bright fruit feelin on the back and edge.

Full body & satisfying though not complex.

  • Although this is already drinking quite well, I believe it stands to benefit from additional time in the cellar. Very persistant and spice-laden finish.

  • Juicy red and dark berries and some licorice, pleasant touch of oak, good acidity and bitterness. The tannin is round and friendly. The wine is entering its very early drinking window and can last at least another 5+ years.

  • Definitely not Pop and Pour at the moment as the wine is closed and the tannins very rough. However, long aeration (minimum 2 hours) reveals nice aromas and good balance. Not your traditional merlot influenced St. Emilion, it's very concentrated, powerful and probably long lived. Although it's early to drink it, I like this kind of wines from time to time as one never knows how they will evolve over time, sometime unfavorably. Finally, I try to figure out why 2016 was presented as a very homogeneous vintage. I tasted a few recently, have been mainly disappointed with medoc wines with no backbone, diluted, no fruit and only dry tannins. This one is powerful!

  • Good value for money. Medium bodied, fruit forward with berries, black pepper, a bit of vanilla on the mid-palate. It has a velvety finish with simple tannins. Good to drink by itself or with Brie or goat cheese.
