One-hour decant through a screened and aerating funnel; no sediment. Wine emitted a blackberry fragrance. After resting, wine was clear; dark-colored, no lightening towards the rim. Nose was deep dark fruit, flowers and some spice. As with the 2015 I tasted 18 months ago, the nose was reminiscent of a fully mature Beaujolais (this time a Regnie) from a great year and a top-notch producer. In the mouth, the wine's flavors exceeded the promise of the nose. Again the wine's weight and texture was akin to that of a decent northern Rhone. Black raspberries, all sorts of spices, some toast and a bit of minerality on the medium finish. Nice balance and I believe this wine has several years of good drinking ahead of it. Great QPR ($22/bottle).

Delicious. Deep ruby with a purple core, pronounced aromas and flavors, nose of dark fruits, vanilla and cedar, palate is dry, fruits are ripe and black, plum, cherry, cacao, spice, black currant, cedar, vanilla, soft tannins, medium acidity, high alcohol, full bodied, long finish. Yummy.

50/50 Vranec/Plavec. Intense deep ruby. Velvety full body, tangy black fruit with spice notes. Pretty heady alcohol, noticeable 14.5%. Great value.
