Very light ruby core, utterly clear and bright. A little something floral on the nose, with some brick dust. Dry, balanced acidity, with no discernible tannins. Fresh and light, this drinks more like a robust rose than a red—and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, so long as you like the style. I definitely do, and today was warm enough in NYC to make this just about perfect!

Near transparent light garnet color. Decanted. Now 1.5h after decant. Aromas of raspberries, red cherries, some minerals and hint of herbs. Tart red cherries, some herbs, and a nice mineral streak. Mild tannins on midpalate. Juicy acids on a light bodied frame. When initially tasted after opening, had the nice bright fruit and hint of bubblegum that always says gamay to me. Now, w air, the herbal.and mineral aspects come out more, reminiscent of a Touraine red from Loire with the fruit of California. Different but delicious and so gulpable.

I was immediately startled when I poured it, as the color was only slightly deeper than the Rosé. Completely translucent, and about the same shade as a red cherry, it startled again with the intensity of the aromatics. Dark strawberry, cherry, floral and lightly stony, as if rocks were being rubbed together, it carried multiples of what the color suggested. On the palate it played more as an amped up Rosé, until the herb infused finish, which carried on until the strawberry/cherry fruit took over to linger far longer than many a darker wine. Quite the shocker in many respects, and a truly distinctive wine.
