Opaque crimson and somewhat rustic from the get-go, this Cab delivers a core of black fruit, spice, savory herbs and licorice. Full-bodied, fresh, seamlessly alcoholic (14%), judiciously oaked and with plentiful homespun tannins, it is impressively dense on the middle palate and closes with a dusty long finish. Short-term cellaring should soften the tannins and make this a bit more approachable. A higher score may be merited in the future. Drink 2022-2030.
