  • Probably not meant for aging, this has been a troublesome wine for me. The fruit is cooked and jammy, the wine comes across as oxidized with flavors of raisins and rhum ice cream. Maybe I've been unlucky with the bottles I bought, but this is certainly not a pleasant wine.

  • Another mediocre bottle of this wine. I wonder if the wine has been exposed to excess heat; the fruit comes across as cooked and raisiny and the wine lacks the acidity and freshness one usually finds in wines from this region. There is a bit of flowery aromas on the nose, but that's pretty much it. Disappointing.

  • I wasn't as excited about this wine as last time I opened a bottle. This is still Gamay in a lighter and more gently style compared to when it is grown in Beaujolais. Pretty mountain flowers and thin, fresh air (sounds creative no?) are still marks of this wine, but the fruit seemed a bit ripe, almost cooked to me. My friends liked this for the freshness and the fruit, I was more reserved.

  • Still vibrant 4 years on, I wonder how long it would have lasted. Tons of floral aromas and something almost toasty, great acid balance keeps it elegant on the palate.

  • This is an outstanding wine from Grosjean. The Gamay is so differently expressed here compared to how it is expressed in Beaujolais. Much lighter in style, this wine shows flowers - violets - a very perfumed bouquet, nice red garden fruit from a high altitude. This wine is so feminine, subtle and elegant. A very thin tannic thread runs through the spine, so this will live. Man, one can sniff the flowers of Valle d'Aosta. STGT category. Wow.
