  • Returning to this vintage after 3 years. Medium golden colour. Still as beautiful with fine elegance and smoky minerality. Wine was aged for 16 months in used FR oak. Medium light golden colour. Delicate aroma of pineapple, yellow apple, peach, hazelnuts, smoke. Palate shows gracefulness and elegance supported by smoky mineral notes wrapped in slightly creamy texture and well integrated vibrant acidity.

  • At home. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Cork closure.
Appearance is clear, very pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of white powdered crushed stones minerality, weathered rocks, citrus lemon-lime. Perfume with air. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of green apple, citrus lemon-lime, sweet honeydew melon, background of stony rocky minerality. Long sweet finish.
Good quality. Quite unique. Nice drinking already and doesn't particularly feel like it will improve dramatically.
Day 2: Actually much improved. Lots of salty minerality, smoother and ends off with a salted almond nut note. Good.

  • Final bottle, just for the record, it is no different from the second bottle, decent clean some lemon etc but where does anyone find, presuming these bottles were typical anything else is a mystery, nice but anonymous.

  • opened another of this to see if the first was a victim of bottle variation, the second bottle was more lemony and had a fresher style but apart from that was the same.still enjoyable but nondescript, strange Chardonnay with no personality.

  • This was a strange one, failed entirely to identify anything coming through on the nose other than faint lemon and talcum powder, very smooth and soft in the mouth gently washing over the tongue.
I asked the wife who is very good at digging out aromas and flavours, but no she said the same, liked it said it was soft and that was that, stumped, but still a decent bottle and enjoyed.
