Community Tasting Notes (6) Avg Score: 90.8 points

  • A fragrant, pure expression of the Bordeaux grape varieties. Dry, with no noticeable oak to distract from the fruit, and and no overripeness. Delightful, and terrific with food.

  • Red and dark red fruits, white flowers, a dash of green herbs and a faint Band-aid note that is rather interesting. Medium bodied, with medium+ acidity and drying tannins. Finish is medium+.

Well-balanced and easy to drink. In a nice spot today and whille this should effortlessly age, it's going to be hard to hold off consuming bottles in the near term.

  • Popped and poured. Intense cedar aroma with underlying dark fruit. lean flavors of leafy cherry fill out in the medium finish. Primary, firm backbone, young, some complexity. Classic Bordeaux profile. Excellent now, I suspect it will get even better with time.

  • I found this bottle to be slightly disjointed off the PnP on night-1, however this is another example of a "young?" Briceland wine that blossomed during the 2nd half (and night-2 tasting). I felt as though I were drinking two completely different wines in fact; though, by the end of night-1, the wine was hinting at what it showed on 2nd tasting. Ultimately, I got great depth and complexity to the fruit in the bottle, and it's "five Bordeaux" varietal components were complementary to one another. CMNs TNs work for me, so I will not list the detailed notes. I do wonder about the exact varietal percentages and vintage(s) that went into this. Score based on night-2.

Edit 4/9/22: I forgot to note that upon opening, the first glasses of this wine had a strong smoke (campfire) component. I questioned whether the grapes might have had some taint. While initially off-putting, this seemed to mellow over the first night and dissipated entirely on the 2nd. I don't think the wine saw American oak.

  • Dark red fruits with a bit of plum and a whiff of white florals and Band-Aid. Medium bodied, with good acidity and tannins that are slghtly drying. Finish is medium+. Dangerously easy to drink.

I pulled this bottle a bit earlier than I wanted to because Covid had limited access to my bottles. And I’m glad I did. This is drinking well if you like wines on the younger side, but it should improve with 2-5 years rest.
