Exploring Northern Rhone Syrah (Paris): Primary fruit, intense, lots of wood vanilla, decadent élevage. Palate : Intense cassis coulis, mocha, a touch too sweet for me, still have to wait a little to have everything integrate more A touch milky ? Well made, consensual, international style, very Guigal, not a terroir wine. Blind, it would be tough to guess Northern Rhone vs. new world Syrah.

Medium/full-bodied, richly textured, fresh, smoke and fruit filled wine with a generous dose of blackberry, dark red pit fruit, earth and a hint of spice and oak in the finish. Give the wine 5-7 years to age and it will be even better.

Very forward and generous at this early stage, with textbook fried bacon, raspberry jam, and deep violet fragrances. The palate is broad, even buttery, with ripe hot climate Syrah flavours of inky black and blue fruits, sweaty saddle, and salty toasty peanutbuttery flavours. Very attractive, made in a flirty but not silly style, drinks very well right now but will surely age gracefully. Tasted alongside Tardieu-Laurent V.V., Ogier le passage, and Ferraton SJ lieu-dit, all from the same vintage.

Peppery spice, oak and red fruit on the nose. Full bodied, smooth with firm tannins, showing crunchy ripe red toned fruit, floral notes, spice, anise and hints of baconfat with firm acidity and good tannic bite. Utterly delicious stuff. Very young but drinking great already.
