At opening nice on the nose. A sour first approach and unbalanced 88p. Will decant and wait for a while and see what happens. 1,5 hour and much better. To get more complexity and less acidity at least another year in the cellar is needed.

Decanted for an hour, intermittently agitated. Right off the bat, this is a quite a nice wine.
Nose of deep red fruits, slightly smokey, wet river stones. Palate is bright red fruits, acid, tannin, little bit of herb, slightly chalky character. Can get some vanilla and oaky chocolate with time. Finish ends dry, similar tart cherries, lovely acid, very fine grained tannins.
$15?!?!?! You've gotta be KIDDING me. Buy two cases of this, leave it in the cellar, pull with confidence. Certainly a modern, fruit driven Rioja, but definitely old world in styling. Didn't find the oak to be offensive and thought overall this was very well balanced.
Drink now or hold for 5 years.

This is in a very good place with many years left. Decanted for an hour. Nice complexity, structure and finish.
