Monthly Tasting Group HWS; Condrieu (By AH): The bouquet is a bit reticent, but shows some white fruits and honey. On the palate full bodied, concentrated, some beautiful oak, honey, apricots, some marzipan and beautiful acidity. Great length and very beautiful wine.

Honeysuckle, apricot, melon, lemon peel, coconut and hazelnut aromas and flavors. Creamy with a very long, complex finish. Nice acidic balance. A gorgeous wine. Served with lemon and garlic pan seared scallops.

I dissent. After decades of wonderful, lithe, tropical fruit-laden droplets embodying the best of viognier from Grillet,Guigal and Vernay, this wine was, I found, clumsy, overly oaked, and significantly overly viscous(and I love viscous sweet wines). The apricot, citrus peel, and interesting burnt orange flavors are present. And yes, this needs more time. But it is hopefully just the vintage.
