Shiraz Tasting (@home): Decanting Time: not decanted, just popped and poured Glass: Riedel Shiraz Nose: Not very intense nose, nice tertiary aromas of wood, eucalyptus, spices, tobacco Palate: Not very powerful but elegant and complex, showing nice signs of maturity and tertiary aromas, hints of eucalyptus Finish: medium+ Past peak, drink now. Nice wine, but should be drunk seperatily from other, more powerful wines

NobleRottersSydney - Blind Shiraz Options 88, 90, 92 (Lucio's, Paddington): {cork, 13.5%} Deep red still. Impressive nose of menthol & vanilla overlaying spicy ripe blackcurrant fruit. Palate is very full, plenty of quality coconut oak is apparent, and not unattractive. All the components integrate really well on the palate, it really feels quite tight. Very clean and Australian. The vintage call is a bit of a surprise, 1992 Eileen Hardy. After an hour in the glass, like many local wines of this style, it seems to become overwhelmingly sweet in its aromas.

like-new cork; inky dark violet with some bricking; surprisingly still youthful plum, spice, long plush finish; still lots of life left
