Maybe this was past its prime b/c it was extremely boring. While inoffensive, didn't do anything for anybody when we had it on Sat night with Meurig and Kristie.

Where's the oak? What a nice surprise to find a new-world Malbec with nicely integrated oak that doesn't dominate. The nose is rich blackberry jam, black currant, and a touch of grilled meat. The palate brings some of that oak but blends it seamlessly with the blackberry and other fruits. This is like drinking a blackberry pie with a base crust of bacon and grilled beef. I'm digging it more than I expected.

Drinking very well right now and more new world than expected. Nice quality bottle, but not as complex as I normally like . Nose blackberry and cherry. Palate: I get mostly black cherry,a hint of blueberry, fig, and lots of chocolate fudge in the middle. Great mouthfeel and a smooth finish with a touch of spice. Would purchase again at under 30.

Nose: dark red fruits accompanied by oak. Seemed unusual to have this amount of fruit in such a heavy wine. It just seemed that way to me based on the feel and smell. Some rose florals followed by additional waves of red fruits.
Taste: Soft, tannin on the back end. Finish is fairly long. Some chocolate and cola notes.
Overall: a fine wine and it is approachable now. 90 points.
