Decanted two hours before service. In the glass, deep, dark purple, no visible signs of aging. On the nose, a different matter at first - loads of barnyard, to the point of being offputting. But we know how these things can go, and one hour later, all of that was gone, leaving an interesting mix of violets and baked citrus. On the palate, currants, raspberries, figs, and smoked meat, with a focused, moderately long finish.

This has mellowed quite a bit. There is still a nice aroma of bing cherries and fresh raspberries with an added menthol and bramble. I know it’s “past it’s drink date” but there was none of the prune or dried fig flavor one gets with over aged wines.

decanted, and let rest for 15 minutes. Cedar, tobacco, tar, green pepper, with mild tannins, that propel the wine. Good mouth feel. I like the wine. No fruit on the nose, but cherries and black pepper on the taste

- Brick color and aromas of black currant and blackberry. It's somewhat balanced with a medium/full body. Round texture with a medium finish - Excellent Malbec...drinking well right now!

Big, bold, fairly well balanced, but too young to drink. Lots of fruit. mouthfilling. Decent balance. I'd hold it a while longer.
