Dennis' summer tasting: Red and brown with brick rim. Sour red berries on the nose. Sweet and intense, but also sour in the mouth. "Crushed cherrystones". Again balance is thrown off by a high level of acid.

Ferrieres: Dark purple with a hint of ruby.med.color intensity, a little rim change. Int. nose of raspberry, cherry, cassis; gamey, soy, thistle and brush; light smoke, wet earth; med. bod. med+ t’s, med. + a’s, long fin of acidic cherry;rich flavors, smooth but not silky. ***Beautiful and elegant with smokey heady intensity. Perfect w/confit de canard and rice. M&D.

Macon’s: Astoundingly rich, gamey, full of earthy terroir typical of Chambertin; rich mouthfeel, could use a couple more years. Also, may have been hints of oxydization from heat when I bought it in Gevry Chambertin.

As Hobbes said - "Life ... is solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short". So is this wine. I tried hard to care, but now it is all down the drain.

Rich ruby red; subtle berry smell; higher earth tones; silky smooth, bad memory, can’t remeber this one; very nice body & taste; good fin.
