Smoke, sassafras, ground coriander and volcanic earth scents meld with the aromas of cherry, dried cranberry, goji, earthy beets, dried herb, sous bois, pepper, spent coffee grounds, cocoa nibs and hints of chestnut and cigar box. The powerful palate is masculine and edgy with a high level of intensity and acidity. Tannins are firm and gripping. The overall texture of the wine is smooth with a medium+ body. The spicy palate showcases flavors of smoked cherries, cranberry, brambly raspberry, baking spices, pepper, coriander, sassafras, herbs, earth, crushed rock, bitter cocoa and Turkish coffee. The finish is unending.... A savory, masculine style that should reward patience. 92/93
