A little on the young / tannic side - maybe needs a couple more years. Surprisingly mild nose. Will try again in a year or two but largely agree with the mild reviews below. A little surprising considering the high level of quarter moons I’ve consumed in the past.

PnP. Some meat and forest floor upon opening, but quickly blew off. Later, cola and cherry, salty and mineral. Got spicy towards the end. Unusually low fruit for Quarter Moon Vineyard from my past experiences. Enjoyable nonetheless with food/tapas.

Took some time to coax out, but turned out quite lovely, if slightly not as profound or astounding as other Pinot efforts from Phelps — including the fantastic Bootlegger’s hill and Proems.
Nose shows pretty sour cherry notes surrounded by a subtle perfume of jasmine, sunflower seed and cherry cola. Aromas of stony loam and forest floor form a very delicate minerality interwoven with well-integrated notes from the oak.
Palate is fairly robust and well balanced, with light to moderate tannin tempered by moderate acid.
