This wine was very impressive for its reasonable price. Pineau d'Aunis is such an interesting grape variety. plum and cherry fruit with distinct notes of black pepper. The tannins that I expect are here, but much silkier than some other Pineau d'Aunis that I have experienced. I love Loire Valley reds!
I don't know -- the back label says ageing potential for 10 years with notes of peppers, cherries, pits and fine tannins -- while all I taste are vague red fruits, no peppers, no cherries, definitely no pits and yeah, ok on the fine tannins (I suppose.......). Certainly a decent wine but the hyperbole on the back label is a little much. Vague notes of savory seem to linger.

Nice, made me think about how Pineau d'Aunis feels like it's halfway between Northern Rhone Syrah and Cab Franc.

Lighter weight, black pepper, lavender and floral notes along with a bit of a vegetal bite. Enjoyable summer red wine with a nice touch o complexity.

This bottle is very nice indeed. Slightly funky Pd'A nose with spice, cherry, funk and freshness. Great pizza wine!
