I drank this over two nights, and it was enjoyable, but surprisingly the oak was a bit intrusive (on both nights). I've had quite a few Goodfellow Pinots (love them) and haven't ever encountered this before, not even on newer Heritage bottlings. No other notes mention it either, so I'm going to assume it was just an anomaly. I have one more bottle, and will hold for a few more years.

Wow this was really lovely, it's only my second single block wine from Whistling Ridge, and it has such a distinct personality that made it quite enjoyable even at this relatively young age. I read in a prior review that its exposure meant the House Block shows more flesh than other parts of the vineyard and my experience definitely confirms that.
Nose was a bit sweet at first but went inward with air till day 2, palate was textural, with plenty of meat on its bones to balance out that whole cluster influence. Still young but showing fresh raspberry fruit, herbs, florals. Went even more savory the next day with incense, burnt citrus, and game. The texture on this is delightful.
I've been dipping my toes into the 2017s and this was in a great early spot, though it probably needs another 5 years to really open up on the nose.

Popped and poured. Good from the get go but opens up a bit more after twenty minutes. In fantastic shape. Cherry, strawberries, herbs and spice. Medium bodied, good acidity, vibrant fruit but also substantial depth with more to come as it ages.

Followed over 3 nights. Lovely and elegant. Red fruited, mostly raspberry with a nice spice/herbal while cluster element worked in. Lengthy finish. Strong finish. Really enjoyed.
