Not a lot happening here, although I've never tasted a Rioja that I didn't warm up to. Nice color, decent legs, very vegetal on the nose w/ a bit of spice. Lite to medium bodied with a briary, not too intense finish. A little disappointing but still a decent selection form Rioja.

14% alcohol, imported by Saranty Imports, White Plains, NY; 100% Tempranillo, aged 12 months in French oak, medium to long legs, dark red, nose is fruit forward; vinturied, served at ca 15 C; if you haven't opened the 2008 by now, drink it! -- won't age much longer -- starting over the hill but still pretty good, fruit forward notes of grapes, berries, stone fruit; full bodied

This is the first of my two independent tastings & reviews of this wine & vintage. Cork closure, light metal foil, fast legs, dark purple/brown, nose of fruit & alcohol, taste is fruit forward; no trace of bitterness but rather leather, minerals, stone fruit; pair with steak; short to medium finish, not especially complex, full bodied

Rubber spice to the nose...blackberry garden hose spice to the palate. A bit watery on the back end with med minus finish.
