I opened this with trepidation. It had been included by mistake in a case of Gevrey. A bit of a pleasant surprise (I fervently hoped) Decanted and immediately concerned about the sherry yellow colour. But, after a while, on tasting it developed a wonderfully honeyed, mature flavour. It develops on the palate, giving way to classic Meursault nuttiness, with a long reach. Just enough acidity to support it. Well done Mr Wragg et al!

Nose of green apple and lime. Nice acidity with slightly subdued fruit of apple, lime, pineapple. Traces of wet grass, lemongrass, ginger. Nuts mix with the afterpalate. Rather short.

Golden colour. Nose of pear, green apple, and peach. Smooth attack with beautiful nuts and minerals on the palate, pronounced citrus and some white pepper and petrol. Average length with balanced fruits and minerals.

(Mischief & Mayhem Meursault) The nose is high-toned and fresh with a faint citrus edge. If the nose doesn’t should ‘Meursault’, the palate is fully flavoured with excellent Meursault dimension. This classy and concentrated wine is fresher than many 2005’s and heartily recommended.
