Community Tasting Notes (5) Avg Score: 92.3 points

  • Incredibly well made Barolo but still youthful. Earthy nose with leather, tar, dried cherry, tobacco and game notes. Grippy but integrating tannins and well balance acidity give great lift, structure and promise to the ripe red fruit and savory cooking spice on the seemingly endless finish. Should improve with another five years, may go a lot longer.

  • Leather, dark fruit and tar on the nose. Dry. Nice acidety. Medium body. Rich fruit. Cherry, leather, ripe plum and tobacco on the palate. Aldo some balsamic and floral notes. Rounded tannins, although with a little grip. Long exit, with marzipan and hint of licorice. A very nice barolo, that needs some time to open up. Just 👍

  • 2020 Tre Biccheri (Bridgeport arts center, Chicago IL): Nose: There is a lot of lift and balance to the nose with dark red cherries, raspberries, cranberries, licorice, herbs, spice notes, violets, roses, and savory tones. There is excellent depth and class that is surprisingly open right now.

Taste: The feel is full bodied with tart, high acidity and chewy, high tannins. There is excellent poise and balance to the feel with dark red cherries, raspberries, licorice, herbs, spice notes, violets, and roses.

Overall: This is a killer, young Barolo. There is a level of accessibility at this time but this has a lot more to give and should be sat on for at least another 6+ years.

  • Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri Tasting (Bridgeport Arts Center - Chicago IL): Walk around tasting. Floral start with plenty of red cherry in a lean, linear and classic manner. Very bright and very good length. Cellar obviously for a decade+. Tre bicchieri.

  • The nose is savory and balanced with fleshy notes of spices, violets, morning dew, strawberries, raspberries, red cherries, rose petals, earth tones, and some red currants. There is excellent depth with a style that is open-knit and welcoming. The Medium bodied feel is deep, silky, and elegant with tart, high acidity and chewy, high tannins. This is extremely youthful and shows a somewhat tamed raw power right now. This will improve with age though so that the more robust side of it settles down and the aromatic side really takes off.
