  • This is one of the best SBs I've had. On the nose, herbs, white flowers. In the mouth, initially very linear, but opens with a buttery, star fruit and guava nettle and cut grass, before fattening with the restrained oak. Balloons in flavour and lasts. I agree needs to be cool, not cold, and would benefit from decanting. Also TWS say drink to 2023 - agree 2027 more realistic. Great

  • Very fresh, nice aromatic and crispy acidity. Oak was very wel balanced, giving tension to the wine. A stunner !

  • Nice Sauvignon blanc. The style I like but not very complex.

  • Nice classy presentation of the bottle, labelling and capsule. Light golden limpid. Day 1: Nose of citrus and gooseberry. Palate is smooth green apple with a long finish coming to wet stone. Day 3: winemakers notes suggest drink to 2027 so we left a third of the bottle 48 hours. The sharp citrus edge is more rounded and the palate is fatter. Much more Sauvignon character with the tomato leaf coming through. Very fine and refreshing with a good long mineral finish. Recommended.

  • This is a wine that evolves a lot with air and perhaps on warming a bit.

Initially, when rather cool and freshly opened it is laser-sharp: notes of citrus and gooseberries on the nose; the palate follows - very, very crisp and cleansing; the finish is tart and short-ish.

But after about 90 minutes open it has softened substantially. The nose has a buttery note as well as still the gooseberry. The palate, whilst still crisp, is somewhat rounder and softer, perhaps unripe peaches, and a slight smokey/mineral note. The finish is longer and a bit more mouth-coating rather than cleansing.

Overall an interesting expression of sauvignon blanc; the producer's website says it has 12 months on 95% new oak, but this doesn't come across to me as a heavily-oaked end result. For me it is far better with 90 minutes air than when freshly opened, which supports the producer's assertion that this has a drinking window out to 2027. Once it has had the air it would pair nicely with herbed salmon or similar dishes, and gets a 91 and OK QPR at ~US$24 (when first opened, perhaps 87-88).
