  • Garnet color. Nose of mushrooms, cherries, spice. Medium+ acidity, cherries, cocoa beans, long ending with a touch of vanilla. I would not consider it super complex, but it’s very good and refined on the edges. Drinks very well now with one hour decant. Enjoyed at Restaurant Olo in Helsinki with both fish and meat, and went very well with both. I like Spätburgunder wines because they are refined and straightforward. This delivered fully.

  • Branded as a "monopole" coming from Schweigen Sonnenberg the Sankt Paul 2016 features a ruby colour fading to amber at the rim. Beautiful aromatics of wild strawberry and cornelian cherry wrapped around notes of sweet spices and brewed tea. Refined yet grainy tannins support the vivid fruit with great concentration and an elegant texture. So long and charming on its aftertaste.
