Dinner with Friends (Gen Hoe): Double blind. Cassis and red plum notes with a bit of barrel spice as well. Full-bodied with fine tannins and flavors of black fruit carrying the finish. Long and balanced. Excellent. (DR)

Double blind. Aromas of blue and black fruit, vanilla, and oak spice. Terrific structure, with fine tannins and loads of black cabernet fruit. Seamless. I guessed mountain cabernet, but was thinking CA. Excellent. (G&R)

Last of my case this was still an over achiever. Had with surf and turf of grilled steak and salmon. Velvety smooth and lots of dark Red Mountain fruit. Friends loved it, this was a great wine for non oenophiles to enjoy, not overly complex but lush and very drinkable.

PnP, very tasty and well balanced wine. Black cherry and floral aromas. Cherry cordial flavors, fine tannins, spicy oak, licorice, mint and a medium-long black pepper finish. On the jammy side but doesn't go over the top. Not as tannic at this early stage as some of the VP Estate Cabs which I'm finding can take 5-7 years to mellow out. Great value for Red Mountain Cabernet and I'd put this right up there as an every day wine with some famous Napa Valley cabs that are twice or more the price.
