  Excellent Sauvignon Blanc. Rich and ripe, but balanced by a lemony acidity and the classy Sausal minerality. Golden hay flavors, vegetal notes, gooseberries, hint of tropical fruits and lemon. No signs of age with this bottle. Lovely. - 91 points

  Definitely some bottle variation in our stock. This bottle from the second purchase was absolutely beautiful. Classy SB flavors, vegetal notes (green bell peppers and gras), some peach and white flowers, bright acidity and a gorgeous minerality. The hot and dry 2018 vintage did not show. Drink now or hold 5-10 years. - 91 points

  Intense mineral Sauvignon Blanc (South Styria) sourced from the very steep Steinriegl vineyard (up to 78 percent inclination / red and blue slate soils). Aged for eleven months on its fine lees in large used oak casks. Bright green-yellow in color with silver reflections and a spicy nose revealing aromas of elderflower, pineapple, lemon zest, fennel and a hint of yellow pepper. On the palate, a medium-bodied, well-balanced wine marked by juicy gooseberry and pink grapefruit and supported by a lively acid structure. Lengthy finish with delicate herbal tones. Although the wine has great potential to improve in the cellar, it is already well-drinkable right now.
  
  Intens minerale Sauvignon Blanc uit Zuid-Stiermarken, geteeld in de zeer steile Steinriegl-cru (tot 78 percent hellingsgraad / rode en blauwe leisteenbodems), met een rijping van elf maanden ‘sur lie’ in grote gebruikte eiken foeders. Helder groengeel van kleur met zilveren schakeringen en een zeer aromatisch bouquet van vlierbloesem, ananas, zeste van citroen, venkel en een vleugje gele peper. In de mond, een middelkrachtige, mooi uitgebalanceerde wijn gekenmerkt door sappig fruit van stekelbes en roze pompelmoes en geschraagd door een levendige aciditeitsstructuur. Lange afdronk met delicate kruidige nuances. Hoewel de wijn nu al behoorlijk op dronk is, zal hij er met de jaren zeker nog op vooruitgaan.

  Again a bottle from the first purchase and again a very ripe and "golden" flavored Sauvignon Blanc. Hay flavors, herbal notes, a bit of oxidation. Quite rich and ripe but balanced by a bright acidity. A very good wine. But not a thrilling bottle. Enjoyed the last bottle a lot more. - 90 points
