Slowoxed for an hour, this still took another 2 hours to really open. Simply a treat to enjoy this wine at 23 years of age. Almost stinks of mineral rich soil, but incredibly delicate, almost pu-ehr tea notes are given urgency and lift by still fresh white pit fruit. The palate is alive and vibrant, strikingly oscillating between juicy acidity and tingly minerality and fruit. As much as I have of late given the nod to Hochrain for ageability, this is a beautiful multifaceted wine still full of life.

(Hirtzberger Riesling Singerriedel Smaragd) The nose was a combination of honey, gym sneaker, petrol (hint), daisies and intense mineral. Very pretty nose. A complete nose. Palate was juicy and ripe with pure apricot, mango and vivid minerality. The finish is great as it just dissolves but never dissipates. Fantastic stuff.

Something went wrong here. Tasted fine but had a strange turpentine stench.
