  Dark red, youthful. First thing that hits your nose is a brisk red fruit, but this quickly fades to give way to balanced black cherries, jamminess with vanilla oak and heavy alcohol. Quite dry on first tasting, bursting with tannins and saltiness. Full rich and austere, feels like it could do with years more softening, but is good and structured. Dark fruit hides in the background and is waiting to burst through. Continues to be a slightly austere wine as we pass down the bottle. Great with food.
