Excellent Blaufrankisch. Sour cherry with a hint of cantaloupe (?) on the nose. Not a long finish and not highly tannic. It’salmost as if I felt some burn from the alcohol on the finish but at 12.5% I doubt it. Good wine for the price.

From Eisenberg, in the southern part of Burgenland. They have some unique soils that result in lighter bodied, more mineral driven Blaufränkisch. This was no exception. A very floral wine - rose petals, violet petals. Underripe black cherries, raspberries. A good amount of organic earth notes such as dirt and wet stone. Elegant and food friendly wine.
