Got a case of this early this year and now in December it's continuing to improve with cellaring, which has been my experience with most vintages of Ramitello. Deep, dark purplish red; dark fruit, almost raisin-like dried cherry nose. Palate adds some tar, enough to add complexity, expressing very well the aglianico in the blend even though it's only 15%. Excellent balance and acid and tannin, medium length finish.

Black fruit, warm spices, attractive freshness, hint of eucalyptus on the finish. Good weight (14% ABV), loosely grained tannins, good flavour intensity and length. Plump rather than elegant, but satisfying. Good value. At restaurant Cecconi's, Amsterdam, NL.

Somewhat dusty, rusty, herbal, dried leather, Italian backbone where some acidity and medium toned fruits remain in the mix of a nicely textured wine.
