  • I'm always delighted by Cab Franc. It is just bold enough, without being so bold as to blanket the intricacies of the terroir it comes from. The perfect varietal for my palate. This example is not very expensive and is a good entry for those interested in experimentation with this varietal that does not receive as much single varietal bottling as it should.

  • Not showing the same VA that I found last time, but still on the dark and plummy side of things, and not exactly what I look for in Cabernet Franc. Aromas of dark berries, slightly jammy, resinous herbs, flowers, a little cigar and tomato leaf... grippy and bold on the palate, nice intensity and cut. For dinner, this will be much more interesting with some food.

  • a little VA here, rather syrupy and jammy on the nose, but firm and serious on the palate. Aromas of blackberry, blueberry, strawberry, ketchup, tarragon... a little hint of pyrazines, but this is not very vegetal at all. Firm and fresh on the palate, significant tannic grip but lots of tangy fresh fruit to keep it lively, nice but at this price you can get some mind-blowing Loire reds

  • The wine is dark and extracted. It smells perfumed with dark fruits of, cassis and a little pepper. It tastes like blueberry, bing cherry, and a little bell pepper. The body is medium. The wine has a silky texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity. Overall very agreeable wine on its own or with a wide variety of dishes.
