First night, late night, was a TUD* screwcap two-glasses pour and it was forgettable - bit too tannic, bit too acidic but it was wet and finished off the evening. Left it in the cabinet for the next night and then on the 3rd evening decided to cocktail with it while rustling up dinner. Total transformation. This was lithe and luscious. Great macerated fruit - tannins had gone back to their shadows and the acidity settled in to drive the wine forward. Great savoury nose of spreadable dark berry fruit, chopped herbs, baking spice and wine-dipped cigars. I'm getting a case of this and stuffing it in the deep, dark back corner of the cellar and forgetting about it for 3 years, Great potential. TUD - totally unnecessary drink; typically unwise choice but for those nights when you want to stay up a little longer and linger over a glass.
Red fruits, mild, approachable tannins. Perfect anytime red wine - easy to drink on own or with food. Paired equally well with prime rib beef lollipops and pork burritos.
Wish I'd bought more ...
