My only bottle from this vintage. A pretty, semi-opaque crimson in color, lightening quite a bit at the edge - but hardly any bricking at all. Beautiful and complex on the nose. Mesmerizing aromas of crushed dark berries, mint, spice and cherry candy waft from the glass. I just could not stop smelling this. Full-bodied, yet elegant in weight and velvety in texture. Now completely mature, but surprisingly still offering plenty of delicious cherry and blackberry fruit, with a moderate acidity. Shows great intensity and pin-point focus on the mid-palate. The long, polished finish features perfectly integrated tannins and lingering notes of mineral, leather and ripe, sweet fruit. Not a blockbuster, this is very refined and impeccably balanced. A magnificent Tuscan Syrah that could easily stand toe-to-toe with the best from the Northern Rhone. Still has several more years left in its prime, if stored properly. 50+5+14+18+9=96

Impressively aged with a lot of tertiary notes like mushrooms, wet forest floo and licorice. Dark cherries, plums and a nice touch of eucalyptus. Elegant and animating acidity with a very chocolate/cocoa-driven finish. Still some tannins left. Great!

On the nose: Eucalyptus, tobacco, coffee, forest floor
On the palate: High acidity with eucalyptus
Long finish
Perhaps little one-dimensional
