Gets more classic Cali pinot each year - last bottle. Drinking well to me -- depth of color has lightened and is very silky now. Dark cherry with pronounced cola notes. Well balanced. Finish isn't as long as I hoped for. Fragrant fruit and cola nose. Good QPR.

There is a bit of funk on the nose initially, horse sweat but not Brett. On the palate; blue to red fruit, a bit of spice, acid from a cool year... This has silky texture, nice body... Doesn't yet taste like a "mature" Pinot, but is showing very well. It's a nice wine from a tricky vintage, when Lemelson had four different winemakers working with and against each other in a single vintage. Aging well, and has more life ahead of it.

There was definite funk when first opened, but it mostly blew off after a few hours (what was left wasn't offensive and actually worked well with the rest of the wine). Dark color. Aside from the barnyard, there was initially dark berry fruits (think boysenberries) and plums, as it got more air there was lots of licorice. Fullish, ripe fruit, but plenty of balancing acidity. The tannins were a little woody. Clean, snappy finish with a couple interesting turns. Nice length. Drinking nice right now.

Lemelson wines always seem to be more Californian, than Oregonian - with all the rich, ripe fruit and lush texture -- and this bottle was no exception. In addition to all the fruit, this bottle had a bit of citrus on both the nose and palate. This bottle did not work for me - I think primarily because of the citrus.

(Lemelson Thea's Pinot Noir) #3; VaynerPAZZZ (based on QPR); COLOR-medium/dark; NOSE-some raspberry; really good fruit; a little Grey Poupon mustard; TASTE-both smooth and harsh; really smooth elegance initially, while the finish is really tough; creamy--like canned whipped cream in the mouth; good fruit; some heat on the back-end; well made and fun, but a little boring; GV-86+
