Opened just before dinner. Color is surprisingly light. Little bit of barnyard nose. Black pepper, smooth ckassic Ziegler. Little “fruit” but it’s 17 years old - partner says aged into dignified claret. Will gas and add a note tomorrow. But liking it a lot tonight. Served with poblano pepper/tomato/ Mexican chocolate beef tenderloin cheater mole

14.9% alcohol. Dark cherry color. Dusty cherry and spice on the nose. Vibrant and intense in the mouth, with plenty of acidic back bone and spice on the palate. The Swan Zinfandels have a unique style and liveliness to them that's hard to describe. It works and is delicious. This will keep aging. A-

I didnt really get this bottle. Yes, it is elegant for a Zin and my style in that sense, but even some of the interesting spicy notes and tartness tht i like in my Zins versus the fruit bomb style get taken over by a bit of RS on the finish that i dont like. I dont really see this ever being more than 87-88 for me. The hint of sweetness on the finish is just a bit distracting and the complexities fell slightly short as well

14.9% alcohol. This wine just keeps on trucking. A beautiful red color, with a sumptuous nose of spicy, dusty red and black fruit, spice, and minerals. In the mouth, concentrated and just so lively. A tart edge to the bright fruit, which draws in a really nice mineral-laced edge to the earthy and spice notes. Strong acidity and a juicy finish. A-

14.9% alcohol. Just drinking so well. Intoxicating bouquet, with slightly jammy red and black Zinfandel fruit flavors, a dusty cherry note, and ample spice and minerals. In the mouth, so lively and enjoyable, with a focus on the fruit all the way. Spice and mineral notes round out a complete and tasty wine. A-
